Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or ground turkey

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup sour cream

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Sauté the vegetables: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Combine ingredients: Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together and let simmer for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the potatoes: While the meat mixture is simmering, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the chopped Yukon gold potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Make the mashed potatoes: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the milk, sour cream, and butter. Mash until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the casserole: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the meat and vegetable mixture evenly across the bottom. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top, smoothing them out with a spatula.

Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the mashed potatoes.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until heated through and the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then scoop and serve hot.

                      Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 6

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the casserole hot, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for color. Offer a side of crusty bread to complete the meal.
