Ingredients

8 oz (225g) button mushrooms, sliced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 tsp dried thyme)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for added richness)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Clean the mushrooms thoroughly and slice them. Mince the garlic and set aside.

Sauté the Mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and have released their moisture.

Add Garlic: Once the mushrooms are nicely browned, add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Cream and Broth: Lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream and beef broth. Stir well to combine.

Season the Sauce: Add the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce into the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly mixed. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.

Simmer: Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. If desired, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese for added creaminess and flavor.

Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool for a minute. Serve warm over perfectly cooked steak of your choice.

                Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4
