Ingredients

2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs, beaten

1/2 cup milk

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Garlic Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sour cream

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely shredded cabbage, flour, cornmeal, green onions, parsley, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and milk until smooth.

Pour the egg and milk mixture into the cabbage mixture, stirring until just combined. The batter should be thick but still spoonable. If too thick, you can add a splash of milk.

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.

Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of the fritter batter into the hot oil, careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Once cooked, transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

While the fritters are frying, prepare the garlic sauce by mixing together the mayonnaise, sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve the crispy cabbage fritters warm, drizzled with the garlic sauce.

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the fritters on a platter with fresh parsley garnishing and a small bowl of garlic sauce in the center for dipping.
