Ingredients

1 pound elbow macaroni

4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup unsalted butter, cubed

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

Prep the Pasta: Start by cooking the elbow macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water for about 5 minutes, just until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mix the Cheese Sauce: In your crock pot, add the whole milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Add Cheese: Gradually mix in the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, reserving a little of each cheese for topping later. Stir until the cheeses start to melt into the creamy mixture.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce in the crock pot, and gently stir until the pasta is fully coated.

Add Butter: Toss in the cubed butter, mixing until it melts and incorporates into the dish.

Cook: Set your crock pot to low and cook for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally until the pasta is tender and the cheese sauce is thick and creamy.

Optional Topping: If you prefer a crispy topping, during the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the reserved cheese and breadcrumbs on top, then cover and continue to cook.

Serve: Once done, give the mac & cheese a final stir, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then scoop into bowls and enjoy!
