4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley.

In a separate bowl, combine the heavy cream and half of the Gruyère cheese. Mix until well blended.

Layer the cooked shrimp mixture into a greased baking dish. Pour the creamy cheese mixture over the shrimp, ensuring they are well covered.

In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the remaining Gruyère cheese and sprinkle this mixture generously over the top of the gratin.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Once done, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired.
