Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon butter for greasing the baking dish

1 pound beef cutlets (thinly sliced beef)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.

Prepare the Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes with minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Toss until the potatoes are evenly seasoned.

Make the Cream Mixture: In another bowl, mix the heavy cream with half of the shredded cheddar cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Layer the Potatoes: Arrange half of the seasoned potato mixture in the greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cream, topping with the remaining cheddar cheese.

Bake the Potatoes: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Prepare the Beef Cutlets: While the potatoes are baking, season the beef cutlets with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

Cook the Cutlets: Add the beef cutlets to the skillet in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until nicely browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes.

Serve: Slice the scalloped potatoes and plate alongside the savory beef cutlets. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and extra flavor.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the scalloped potatoes on warm plates, with beef cutlets arranged on the side. Drizzle any pan juices over the beef for extra flavor, and sprinkle additional fresh herbs for a vibrant look.
