Ingredients

3 large egg whites

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon Jello powder (flavor of your choice)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium speed until frothy.

Add cream of tartar and continue to whip until soft peaks form.

Gradually add granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while beating on high speed until the mixture is glossy and forms stiff peaks.

Gently fold in the Jello powder, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the meringue.

Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip or a spoon to drop the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, creating small mounds or swirls.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the meringue cookies are crisp and can easily lift off the parchment paper. They should be dry to the touch.

Once baked, turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside to cool completely. This helps them dry out and maintain their texture.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 2 hours 15 mins | Servings: 24 cookies

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the cooled cookies on a decorative platter or tiered stand. For an extra touch, sprinkle some additional Jello powder over the top for color or serve with a side of whipped cream for dipping!
