Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

2 large onions, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)

Salt and pepper to taste

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

6 large croissants, cut in half lengthwise

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Caramelize the Onions: In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, sprinkle with salt, and cook, stirring occasionally for about 15-20 minutes until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Add garlic powder and thyme towards the end of cooking, mix well, then set aside to cool.

Prepare the Beef: Place the thinly sliced flank steak on a clean surface. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Spread Cream Cheese: Once the onions have cooled down, spread a layer of softened cream cheese over each slice of beef. Make sure to cover the surface evenly for extra creaminess.

Add Onions and Cheese: Place a spoonful of the caramelized onions on top of the cream cheese layer, followed by a sprinkle of shredded Swiss cheese.

Roll Up: Carefully roll each slice of beef tightly from one end to the other. If needed, secure with a toothpick to hold the roll together.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Assemble and Bake: Arrange the roll-ups seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Prepare the Croissants: While the beef roll-ups are baking, place the halved croissants on a separate baking tray and warm them in the oven for the last 5 minutes.

Serve: Remove the beef roll-ups from the oven. Let them cool slightly before removing toothpicks if used. Serve each roll-up on a croissant half, garnished with fresh parsley.

                    Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 45 min | Servings: 12 roll-ups

                      - Presentation Tips: Arrange the beef roll-ups on a platter garnished with parsley, and serve with a side of mustard or a savory dip for an added flavor kick.
