Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup ketchup (plus more for topping)

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for frosting)

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened (for frosting)

1/4 cup sour cream (for frosting)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.

Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf to keep it moist while baking.

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

While the meatloaf bakes, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and well combined.

Once the meatloaf is finished baking, let it rest for 10 minutes. Then, spread the cheese frosting over the top of the meatloaf generously.

Return the frosted meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the frosting to melt slightly and become bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
