Ingredients

1 box German chocolate cake mix

1 cup water

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup chocolate syrup

1 cup whipped topping

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the German chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until fully combined and smooth.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and while still warm, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake at about 1-inch intervals.

In a separate bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, and half of the shredded coconut (reserve the rest for topping). Gradually pour this mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.

Let the cake cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Once chilled, spread whipped topping evenly over the cake.

Sprinkle the remaining shredded coconut and chopped pecans on top for garnish.

Slice and serve your delicious German Chocolate Poke Cake!
