12black pepper
12salt
14cup honey
14cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
2clovesgarlic, minced
1tablespoonsesame oil
1to tasteGreen onion and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
In another bowl, pour the beaten egg.
In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs or panko.
Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Place the nuggets on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the nuggets for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway for even crisping.
While the nuggets bake, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Once the chicken nuggets are finished baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle or toss them in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
Garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Serve with a side of dipping sauce, such as sweet chili or honey mustard.
