1 tablespoon matcha powder

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 cup hot water

Ice cubes

Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

A sprinkle of cinnamon (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Begin by preparing the matcha. In a bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water until smooth and frothy. A bamboo whisk (chasen) is ideal for this, but any small whisk will do.

    In a separate cup, mix the brown sugar with a tablespoon of warm water to create a brown sugar syrup. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

      Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the brown sugar syrup over the ice, ensuring it's spread evenly.

        Slowly pour the prepared matcha over the ice and syrup. The matcha will create a beautiful gradient effect.

          Gently pour the milk over the matcha, allowing it to swirl together slightly without fully mixing.

            If desired, top with whipped cream for an indulgent touch and sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top for added flavor.

              Serve with a straw or a spoon, allowing the drinker to mix it as they wish.
