2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond or oat milk)

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of sea salt

Optional: whipped cream or foamed milk for topping

Optional: dark chocolate shavings or matcha powder for garnish

Instructions
 

Sift the Matcha: Begin by sifting the matcha green tea powder into a medium-sized bowl to remove any clumps and ensure a smooth consistency.

    Whisk with Water: Add 2 tablespoons of hot water (not boiling) to the sifted matcha. Using a bamboo whisk or a small regular whisk, mix vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy. Set aside.

      Heat the Milk: In a small saucepan, heat your chosen milk over medium heat. Once the milk is hot (but not boiling), remove it from the heat.

        Mix Sweetener and Flavor: Stir in the honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt into the warm milk. Mix well until combined.

          Combine Matcha and Milk: Gradually pour the matcha mixture into the milk while whisking gently, ensuring that it blends smoothly.

            Froth (Optional): If desired, use a milk frother to create a bit of foam on top for a café-style feel.

              Serve: Pour the matcha latte into your favorite cup and top it with whipped cream or foamed milk if preferred.
