Ingredients

4 large croissants, halved

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a mix)

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage (or a mix)

Fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Start by greasing a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Arrange the halved croissants in the baking dish, cut sides facing up, overlapping slightly as needed.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully combined.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants, ensuring each piece is soaked thoroughly.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese and crumbled bacon or sausage over the top of the croissants.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight, allowing the croissants to absorb the egg mixture.

The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature while the oven heats up.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is set.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and garnish with fresh berries before serving.
