Ingredients

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese whiz)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hoagie rolls

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and add Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Stir to combine, then transfer to a plate and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Once the steak is cooked to your preferred doneness, return the sautéed onions and peppers to the skillet, mixing them with the steak.

Lay slices of provolone cheese over the meat mixture, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it melt for about 2-3 minutes. If using cheese whiz, drizzle it over the meat after it’s plated.

While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls in half and lightly toast them on a grill or in the oven.

Once the cheese has melted, scoop generous portions of the steak mixture into each hoagie roll.

Serve immediately and enjoy this delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak!
