Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 bag tortilla chips

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed

1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, sliced

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Sour cream, for serving

Avocado, diced, for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the meat, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

On a large baking sheet, evenly spread out a layer of tortilla chips. Top with the Sloppy Joe mixture, black beans, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Remove the nachos from the oven and sprinkle with sliced jalapeños and fresh cilantro.

Serve hot with diced avocado and sour cream on the side.

                  Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the nachos on a large platter, and provide small bowls of sour cream and diced avocado on the side for guests to add as they please. You can also add a sprinkle of extra cilantro for a fresh touch!
