Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon baking powder

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups white sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

3/4 teaspoon salt

¼ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing just until incorporated. Do not overmix!

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded blobs of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each for spreading.

Gently flatten each cookie slightly with your fingers.

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to turn golden but centers are still soft.

Allow to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar and add sprinkles for a festive touch.
