Ingredients

1 large Italian loaf or hoagie bread

1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

Salt to taste

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until they start to soften.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Push the veggies to one side of the skillet. Add the sliced ribeye steak to the other side, and season with smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Cook the steak, stirring occasionally, until it’s browned and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes). Mix the veggies back in with the steak once done.

Slice the Italian loaf in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the insides to create space for the filling.

Load the steak and veggie mixture evenly onto the bread halves.

Generously sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheese over the steak mixture.

Transfer the loaded bread to a baking sheet and place in the preheated oven. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before slicing.

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious twist on a classic Philly cheesesteak!
